Roaring Ridge from Hyak Sno-park
I parked in the Hyak Sno-park and headed south on the groomed John
Wayne Pioneer Trail. I followed the trail then a couple roads to the
four-way intersection that is 1/10th a mile east of Lost Lake. At the
intersection I went right and followed the logging road that end
between the two summits of Roaring Ridge.
The view from the two summits are partially blocked by trees. But the
col between the two summits has one of the best views I've ever seen
of the Snoqualmie Pass peaks.
There are excellent ski-descent options from the top. Descending the
ridge counter-clockwise down to Lost Lake looks like a great moderate
option. The basin north of the two summits looks like a more
challenging descent. Being solo, I descended via the easy south
slopes down to the road, which was lots of fun.
