Vesper Peak and Sperry Peak
Excellent scramble. The trail approach isn't too long and has a bit
of a view. Vesper is almost all rock that you could just walk up or
choose to take a route with a bit more climbing. Ascending Sperry is
mostly dirt and brush (not too bad). The views from the top of both
are excellent. We found staying just to the S side of Sperry Peak's W
ridge the easiest way to the top. We descended from Sperry Peak to
the basin by returning to the 5400+ pass between Sperry Peak and
Vesper Peak and going down the S face of the ridge to the lake.
